Slain Toddler’s Dad Googled Child Deaths

The Cobb, Georgia man accused of leaving his son in a hot SUV for seven hours, killing the toddler, had previously researched child deaths inside vehicles online, according to new documents released Saturday. Justin Harris, 33, has been held without bond at the Cobb County jail since June 18, when his son, 22-month-old Cooper Harris was declared dead in a shopping center parking lot. “During an interview with Justin, He stated that he recently researched, through the internet, child deaths inside vehicles and what temperature it needs to be for that to occur,” according to search warrants. “Justin stated that he was fearful that this could happen.” In addition to murder, Harris is being charged with second-degree child cruelty, which is also a felony.
