Sharapova Quits U.S. Open

Maria Sharapova won’t compete at the 2015 U.S. open because of a leg injury, she announced in a Facebook post Sunday night. “I have done everything possible to be ready but it was just not enough time,” she wrote. “To all my amazing fans, I will be back in the Asian swing in a few weeks and look forward to finishing the year healthy and strong.” She will be replaced by fellow Russian Daria Kasatkina.
