Senate Pushes Sunday Morning Deal

Now that the Senate has killed John Boehner's plan, it's aiming for a 1 a.m. Sunday vote on Harry Reid's plan. In order to cut off debate for the bill and bring it to a vote early Sunday, rather than Monday morning, Senate Democrats will need the votes of seven Republicans, which may not be forthcoming. As for the plan itself, it seems likely it will be a compromise. Reid will reportedly offer Republicans slightly deeper cuts. He'll also adopt Mitch McConnell's backup plan to delegate authority to raise the debt limit to President Obama.
