Secret Service: No Guns Allowed at RNC

Despite a petition that garnered more than 43,000 signatures, the U.S. Secret Service said Monday that people attending the Republican National Convention won’t be allowed to carry firearms. Agency spokesman Robert Hoback said “only authorized law-enforcement personnel” will be allowed to bear arms in the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. Citing a federal law, he added that people will not be allowed to pass a certain perimeter, even if they have tickets to the event.
