SeaWorld Workers Posed as PETA Activists

According to SeaWorld's CEO, some of the company's workers posed as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) activists in order to gain an advantage on their primary critics. PETA first made an allegation last summer that SeaWorld employee Paul McComb joined the organization and picketed in front of San Diego's SeaWorld as part of his undercover operations; McComb was placed on administrative leave once his identity was revealed. SeaWorld has already promised to get rid of its orca show in response to backlash from animal rights groups alleging that the strain of captivity and showmanship is bad for the animal's well-being.
