Sean Penn Sues ‘Empire’ Boss for Slander

Sean Penn has filed a $10 million lawsuit against Empire creator Lee Daniels, alleging that Daniels slandered him in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. According to Penn, Daniels falsely insinuated that Penn hits women by comparing him to Terrence Howard, the Empire star who was accused of attacking his ex-wife. “[Howard] ain’t done nothing different than Marlon Brando or Sean Penn, and all of a sudden he’s some fuckin’ demon,” Daniels said. “That’s a sign of the time, of race, of where we are right now in America.” Penn’s complaint claims that his ex-wives, including Madonna, are prepared to testify that he did not beat them.
