Scott Walker Mum on Gay Marriage

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate, might be shifting positions on gay marriage. The word is “might,” because when asked recently about gay marriage, Walker responded, “I don’t comment on everything out there.” When asked if that was a “no comment,” Walker retorted: “No, I’m just not stating one at all.” Walker has opposed work to provide health benefits to gay partners, was in favor of a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, and also opposed a law allowing gay couples to get hospital visitation rights. Now, a judge has overturned the state’s law banning gay marriage. Walker, who is also up for reelection, was asked if the state attorney general should appeal and said: “It really doesn’t matter what I think now. It’s in the constitution.” Gee, thanks for clearing that up.
