Saudis Want to Send Ground Troops to Syria

Saudi Arabi is ready and willing to send ground troops to Syria in order to beat back the rise of ISIS militants in the region. "If there was a consensus from the leadership of the coalition, the Kingdom is willing to participate in these efforts," a Saudi military official said, "because we believe that aerial operations are not the ideal solution and there must be a twin mix of aerial and ground operations." The Saudis claim to have carried out at least 190 bombing raids in Syria since 2014, and join fellow coalition member United Arab Emirates in expressing the desire to deploy ground troops.
