Several Saudi women took to their cars in protest of their country's ban on female drivers. One reportedly drove around the capital for 45 minutes. According to a woman who posted Internet clips of herself driving in 2008, the plan is for women who have foreign drivers licenses to keep driving, doing their daily errands and commuting, until the ban is lifted. A protest organizer says men dressed in women's black coverings in order to confuse security forces. The protest comes after a 32-year-old woman was detained for 10 days for driving, and was released only after she pledged not to drive again or speak publicly.
