Police in Saudi Arabia have arrested a woman who was filmed wearing a miniskirt and crop top in defiance of the country’s strict dress code for women. Authorities in Riyadh caught wind of the video after it was posted on Snapchat and notified the local public prosecutor’s office, which had the woman arrested Tuesday. Prosecutors are now considering a case against the woman, identified only as Khulood. In the six-second clip posted online over the weekend, Khulood is shown from behind as she walks in the town of Ushaiager wearing a crop top and a short skirt. Authorities in Ushaiager have reportedly demanded she be prosecuted for her attire, a demand echoed by many other Saudis who expressed outrage over the video. Khulood said the video was posted online without her knowledge and that she’d been with a legal male guardian at the time the video was made.
