RACE TO THE FINISH

Santorum Touts Small-Town Values

Flanked by his wife and children, Rick Santorum extolled the virtues of small towns and conservative values from his headquarters in Steubenville, Ohio, after Oklahoma’s primary Tuesday was called for the former Pennsylvania senator. “We’re going to win a few, we’re going to lose a few,” Santorum said of the Super Tuesday contests. But he said his campaign was sure to head home with “a whole passel full of silver medals.” Santorum said that the road the country is on is “the beginning of the end of freedom in America.” With the race in Ohio still too close to call, Santorum took aim at Republican nemesis Mitt Romney, denouncing the White House and Obamacare. “We need a person running against President Obama who is right on the issues and truthful with the American public,” Santorum said.
