Sandy Hook Gun Maker Sales Soar

Nearing the year anniversary of the shooting rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary, the manufacturer of the gun used to carry out the deadly massacre disclosed its sales have risen 36 percent since the incident. Remington Outdoor Co., formerly known as the Freedom Group, says 2013 sales are expected to be around $1.25 billion, compared to last year's $931.9 million, and profits are projected to grow by 50 percent. "Consumer concern over more restrictive governmental regulation on the federal, state and local levels has contributed to this increase in demand," the company noted in a recent report.
