Russian Convoy Leaves Ukraine

Hundreds of the white-painted trucks of Russia’s disputed aid convoy crossed back into Russia from Ukraine on Saturday, easing tensions in the area. On the same day, German Chancellor Angela Merkal called for a cease-fire between Ukraine and Russia, saying that an agreement must be reached that would allow the border between the two countries to be patrolled by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). “There must be two sides to be successful,” she said at a news conference after meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. “You cannot achieve peace on your own. I hope the talks with Russia will lead to success.”
