Russian military has been moving ground forces as well as artillery towards Hama, Syria, a location where the country had targeted airstrikes in the first 24 hours of the campaign. Russia had defended its airstrikes by alleging that their planes had struck ISIS targets. This evidence, according to a senior defense official, seems to suggest otherwise. Also on Monday, NATO condemned Russia for incursions into Turkish airspace on Saturday and Sunday, calling on Moscow to cease attacks against Syrian opposition and civilians. Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also summoned the Russian ambassador and warned that Russia "will be responsible for any undesired incident that may occur” in the event of further violations."
