Romney’s Lame Iran Rhetoric

If there’s one thing Mitt Romney loves to do, it’s write op-eds railing on the Obama administration. But Slate’s Fred Kaplan raises an eyebrow at Romney’s latest offering in The Wall Street Journal. Titled, “I Won’t Let Iran Get Nukes,” the article contends that a Romney administration would adopt “a very different policy” from that of the White House, imposing “a new round of far tougher economic sanctions” and developing a “very real and very credible military option” to deal with the rogue state. The problem? Obama has already done all this. “Romney is doing nothing but exploiting a sensitive national-security issue politically by pretending that he has some novel solution.”
