Romney Shifts Global-Warming Stance

Mitt Romney told attendants at a fundraiser Thursday that “we don’t know what’s causing climate change,” so “spending trillions and trillions of dollars to try to reduce CO2 emissions is not the right course for us.” Last June, the GOP candidate asserted that the U.S. should reduce pollutants and gases contributing to climate change, even garnering praise from activist Al Gore. But since entering the presidential race, Romney has moved further right, following Rick Perry’s conservative stance on global warming.
