Romney and Co. Spent $2 Million on Ads

As Mitt Romney slipped in the polls this past week, he and his supporters spent more than $2 million on Michigan TV advertising to try to push him past Rick Santorum. Of the 1,144 delegates needed to win the Republican Party’s nomination for the presidential election, Mitt Romney currently has the most at 123. Rick Santorum has 72, and Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul have only 32 and 19, respectively. A Michigan win for Romney would solidify his frontrunner status, while a Santorum win would totally rearrange the Republican primary contest.
