CRACKGATE

Rob Ford Crack-Smoking Video Released

The video that started a worldwide scandal ensnaring the late Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has finally been made public. Back in May 2013, Ford publicly denied the existence of footage showing him smoking crack cocaine, leading to international headlines and incessant attention on the eccentric mayor’s many brushes with tabloid culture. Ford eventually admitted he had a substance-abuse issue, but remained mayor through the end of his term, ultimately passing away from abdominal cancer this May. The video, which Ford had reportedly never seen, became public Thursday, and was published by the Toronto Star, after charges were dropped against Ford’s ex-driver, Alexander “Sandro” Lisi, for allegedly attempting to extort a gangster for the footage.
