Rich Conservatives Plan Summit

Wealthy Republican donors don't plan on resting on their laurels following the November election. Koch Industries, led by brothers David and Charles who have bankrolled a variety of conservative causes, has invited right-leaning big wheels to a gather in Palm Springs, California, in January. The goal will be to “develop strategies to counter the most severe threats facing our free society and outline a vision of how we can foster a renewal of American free enterprise and prosperity.” In a personal note, Charles Koch added, "If not us, who? If not now, when?" According to the letter, obtained by The New York Times, the meeting will focus on brushing back against "climate-change alarmism and the move to socialize health care." Past Koch gatherings have included Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas and leading conservative lawmakers and state governors.
