Report: Trump Reshuffling Legal Team for Russia Probe

President Trump is reportedly replacing his lead lawyer in the ongoing Russia probe as the White House continues to fend off accusations of collusion with Moscow. Marc Kasowitz, Trump’s personal lawyer, who until now had acted as the lead attorney in the investigation, will see his role reduced as attorney John Dowd takes over, CNN reported late Thursday. Citing several sources familiar with the matter, the report said Dowd and Jay Sekulow will represent Trump in the probe, and they will be afforded attorney-client protections since they are working outside the White House. Attorney Ty Cobb will handle the investigation from inside the White House, according to the report. The decision to reshuffle Trump’s legal team was said to have been made before the president hinted at a pushback against investigators in a New York Times interview published Wednesday. The news came as Mark Corallo, the spokesman for Trump’s legal team, reportedly resigned after two months on the job.
