Report: Sessions Told the White House He’d Leave if Rosenstein Is Fired

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has recently told the White House that he might leave his post should President Trump fire deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, according to a report from The Washington Post. Sessions reportedly told this to White House counsel Donald McGahn last weekend at a moment during which Trump was most angry at Rosenstein following the raid of his attorney Michael Cohen’s property. Sessions himself has irked Trump in the past and according to this report, the president has referred to him as “Mr. Magoo” and to Rosenstein as “Mr. Peepers.”
