Report: Russia Used Facebook to Try Spying on Macron

Russian officials tried to spy on French President Emmanuel Macron’s campaign months ago by using fake Facebook identities, Reuters reports. The intelligence agents from Moscow made nearly two dozen accounts for the purposes of surveillance and spreading misinformation, a U.S. congressman and two other unidentified sources told the news agency. The social-media site confirmed that it had detected such accounts in France and that it had deleted them.
