Rick Gates, the former Trump campaign aide indicted on money-laundering charges as part of the Russia probe, appears to be cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller’s team, CNN reports. Gates has reportedly added well-known Washington attorney Tom Green to his defense team, and Green was spotted at Mueller’s office twice last week, according to CNN. Gates pleaded not guilty to money-laundering charges in October, along with Paul Manafort, his longtime business partner and President Trump’s former campaign chairman. Among the other signs Gates may be cooperating with Mueller is the preparation of superseding indictments in the case that have yet to be filed, according to the report. The delay in filing new charges usually indicates behind-the-scenes negotiations.
