Report: NYC Schools Give Out Plan B

Thirteen New York City high schools have given birth-control medication to students without first obtaining parental approval under a program called CATCH (Connecting Adolescents to Comprehensive Health), writes the New York Post. While condoms have been available to students in the past, this seems to be the first time Plan B and similar morning-after drugs have been made available to students through their schools, according to the Post. Students younger than 18 can get a prescription for the Plan B medication after a visit with their school nurse, and the prescriptions are written by doctors from the city department of health.
