According to a New York Times report, attorneys for Jared Kushner discovered the emails that were made public Tuesday between Donald Trump Jr. and an intermediary for a Russian lawyer. The lawyers, after finding out about the meeting, reportedly updated Kushner’s security-clearance forms. Paul Manafort, who along with Kushner was present at the meeting with Natalia Veselnitskaya last year, has told congressional investigators about the meeting, according to the Times. The newspaper also reported that the president signed off on a statement that Trump Jr. sent to the Times when its journalists were initially reporting on the meeting. The statement was reportedly crafted by top Trump advisers.
