Jemele Hill, the ESPN host who landed in hot water with the network last year for accusing President Trump of racism, will allegedly leave the network at the start of September, Variety reports. The news was first announced on Twitter by journalist James Miller, who said Hill’s departure was “amicable” and includes a “buyout.” Neither Hill nor ESPN have confirmed the news. Hill is believed to have met recently with ESPN President James Pitaro over the matter. Pitaro had stressed to reporters earlier this month that the network wants to remain apolitical and avoid any political commentary. Hill, who currently hosts “The Undefeated,” was singled out and scolded by the White House last year when she called Trump a “white supremacist” after he refused to condemn white nationalists involved in violence in Charlottesville.
