According to The Fashion Spot’s annual Diversity Report, fall 2018 fashion ad campaigns are the slowly becoming more racially diverse, while lagging in other terms of representation. The site’s statistics show that 34.5% of fall ad campaigns feature women of color, a number that's grown just .5% since Spring 2018. Two of the 10 most-booked models of the season are nonwhite—the biracial Bella and Gigi Hadid (their father, the real estate developer Mohamed Hadid, is of Palestinian descent). Plus-size women make up 1.3% of campaigns, which is the lowest the statistic has hit since the site began calculating in 2015. Eighteen models over 50 posed for ad campaigns, the most popular being Amber Valletta, who booked seven this season. There were only six transgender or non-binary castings in Fall 2017, making this group the least-represented in fashion ads.
