St. Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey is in stable, but critical condition after he was reportedly shot in the head Tuesday night in Miami. Bailey was reportedly shot while sitting in a car with family members, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The driver was also allegedly shot and his injuries were deemed life-threatening. The team released a statement just after midnight: “We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more.” Bailey is in the middle of a four-game suspension for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.
