Rahm May Resign Next Month: Report

Obama’s staff shake-up may continue: Rahm Emanuel, the president’s chief of staff, could leave the White House to run for mayor of Chicago as soon as October, a source close to the White House tells CBS News. Such speculation has been rampant ever since Richard M. Daley, the long-time incumbent in the Chicago mayor’s seat, announced that he would not seek re-election when his term ends in May 2011. The source now says that there is a "decent chance" that Emanuel will make the move, though nothing is definite. President Obama said recently that he thinks Emanuel would be “terrific” in the spot, but cautioned that his chief of staff was busy enough in his current job.
