R. Kelly Accused of Sexual Battery in New Lawsuit

A Texas woman who claimed R. Kelly knowingly gave her herpes is suing the singer over allegations of fraud, sexual battery, and false imprisonment, CBS News reported. The lawsuit was filed Monday in a New York court. It comes as a video surfaced online of the alleged abuser saying, “They should've did this shit 30 years ago.” In an interview with CBS This Morning on Tuesday, plaintiff Faith Rodgers also claimed Kelly locked her up for hours, recorded sex acts, and made women call him daddy. She added that he “raises” members of his alleged sex cult. Rodgers met the 50-year-old singer last year in San Antonio when she was 19. She also said he intimidated her and cried about his life, “comparing himself to Michael Jackson” and saying “the media destroyed him.” Rodgers is seeking a jury trial and hopes to help others in the alleged sex ring she left. Kelly’s camp declined to comment to CBS on the newest allegations, but in a video uploaded to Facebook on Friday and first reported by The Grio, Kelly said, “I’m handcuffed by my destiny. It’s too late. They should’ve did this shit 30 years ago...The music has been injected into the world.”
