Protests Bring Chicago Traffic to a Halt

Dozens of protesters marched through Chicago’s streets late Sunday to call attention to the fatal police shooting of an unarmed 18-year-old. The protests came two days after city officials released video of the shooting. Police fatally shot Paul O’Neal last month after a car chase that turned especially chaotic. He was shot in the back by an officer after he fled on foot. Nine videos released Friday showed police firing at the vehicle O’Neal was in when they weren’t aware if he was armed, and one officer seemingly admitting to knowing O’Neal had no weapon. Chicago officials have conceded that police violated protocols during the incident, but it’s not clear what is being done about it.
