Princeton University has suspended its men’s swimming and diving team for the rest of the season after it was revealed that members used language that was “vulgar and offensive as well as misogynistic and racist” on its email list. According to the university, an anonymous tipster led them to the email list. “The behavior that we have learned about is simply unacceptable. It is antithetical to the values of our athletic program and of the university, and will not be tolerated,” said athletic director Mollie Marcoux Samaan. The suspension comes after similar responses at Harvard and Columbia in which players were found to have been using inappropriate language.
