Prince Had Plans to Meet Addiction Dr.

Prince was found dead a day before he was reportedly scheduled to meet with a California doctor specializing in opioid addiction, the Star Tribune reported Tuesday, citing an attorney and several sources with knowledge of the death investigation. Howard Kornfeld received a call from Prince’s reps on April 20 because the artist was “dealing with a grave medical emergency,” said William Mauzy, a Minneapolis attorney. Kornfeld had sent his son Andrew to first meet with Prince at his home and had planned to fly out the following day. Andrew Kornfeld reportedly arrived at Prince’s home at 9:30 a.m. on the 21st, but no one was able to locate the artist. The paper reported that Prince’s body was found in an elevator later that morning and it was Andrew Kornfeld who called 911.
