Poll: Majority of Americans Support Trans Military Service

According to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released Friday, 58 percent of U.S. adults surveyed agreed with the statement: “Transgender people should be allowed to serve in the military.” The poll was taken between July 26 and July 28, after President Donald Trump announced his intention this week to ban transgender personnel from the armed forces. The poll was conducted online and included responses from from 1,249 adults, including 533 Democrats and 434 Republicans. After the president’s Twitter announcement, the United States’ top military officer, Marine Corps Gen.
