Police Chief Calls Obama N-Word

Wolfeboro, New Hampshire Police Commissioner Robert Copeland made it very clear to his critics that he has no intention of backpedaling from his racist remarks about President Obama. Wolfeboro resident Jane O’Toole overheard Copeland refer to Obama as “that f------ n-----” in a local restaurant in March and confronted him. In a response to O’Toole that was also published in the Granite State News, Copeland said,“I believe I did use the 'N' word in reference to the current occupant of the Whitehouse. For this, I do not apologize — he meets and exceeds my criteria for such.” On Thursday night, residents gathered to call for Copeland’s resignation, but he did not say whether he would step down. Commission Chairman Joseph Balboni said he had no intention to ask Copeland to resign. “He’s worked with a lot of blacks in his life...He said some harsh words about Mr. Obama, and here we are.”
