Polar Vortex Coming Back for Summer

Your complaints about the heat and humidity have been answered: a polar vortex is headed toward the U.S. A deep pool of cold air will overtake parts of the country's north and northeast next week. Pushing temperatures down as much as 30 degrees below average, the chill could send the Great Lakes and Upper Midwest down into the 40-degree range. The unseasonal weather may have something to do with Japan's Typhoon Neoguri.
