Plouffe: Dems Can Win in Nov.

As congressional Democrats scramble to find direction and the White House takes off on a populist approach following the surprise Republican win in Massachusetts, the Democratic Party is facing down a tough November election. But it doesn't have to be that way, writes David Plouffe, President Obama's campaign manager, in The Washington Post. If Democrats "do what the American people sent them to Washington to do," November "doesn't need to be a nightmare." Plouffe's suggestions for "strengthen[ing] our hand": Pass health-care reform, "without delay"; demonstrate a commitment to job creation; tout the stimulus package; ignore GOP polemics about spending; demonstrate ethical integrity; "run great campaigns"; and, finally, "no bed-wetting."
