Phone-Hacking Suit Will Come to U.S.

Britain's phone-hacking scandal is coming stateside. A lawyer representing many of the people whose phones were allegedly hacked by the News Corp. tabloid News of the World says legal action will be launched in the United States some time next week. The lawyer, Mark Lewis, said he had hired Norman Siegel, who represents the families of many victims of the Sept. 11 attacks, to go after Rupert Murdoch's media company. Lewis said the case would be in New York, with the first hearings coming in the next two to three months.
