Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson opened up about being bullied in an Instagram post Monday, assuring fans that he wouldn’t kill himself “no matter how hard the internet or anyone tries to make me.” “I’m trying to understand how when something happens to a guy the whole entire world just trashes him without any facts or frame of reference,” he wrote in a statement. “I’ve been getting online bullied and in public by people for nine months. I’ve spoken about BPD and being suicidal publicly only in the hopes that it will help bring awareness and help kids like myself who don’t want to be on this earth.” Davidson, the former fiancé of singer Ariana Grande, also wrote that he was “upset” he had to assure fans he wouldn’t kill himself amid the bullying. “To all those holding me down and seeing this for what it is—I see you and I love you,” he wrote. Davidson has not shied away from talking about his private life. He’s discussed his father’s death on 9/11, cracked jokes about his failed relationship with Grande, and spoken candidly about his mental health struggles on SNL.
