Paul Simon announced Monday that his upcoming “Homeward Bound” tour will be his last. In a statement, Simon said he had “often wondered what it would feel like to reach the point where I’d consider bringing my performing career to a natural end. Now I know: It feels a little unsettling, a touch exhilarating, and something of a relief.” The tour is set to begin May 16 in Vancouver and will conclude July 15 in London, with a performance with James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt. Simon’s announcement comes as music legends like Elton John and Ozzy Osbourne have also announced their farewell tours. “I think about music constantly,” said Simon. “I am very grateful for a fulfilling career and, of course, most of all to the audiences who heard something in my music that touched their hearts."
