Paul Manafort Attends Court Hearing in a Wheelchair and Prison Jumpsuit
SUIT, NO. WHEELS, YES.
Paul Manafort appeared in court Friday in a wheelchair and wearing his prison jumpsuit, according to NBC News. At the hearing, Judge T.S. Ellis III scheduled Manafort’s sentencing on February 8. President Trump’s former campaign manager did not rise when Ellis spoke to him. Defense attorney Kevin Downing said there are “significant issues with Mr. Manafort’s health right now that have to do with his confinement,” and he asked Judge Ellis to expedite Mandafort’s pre-sentencing investigation so he could be moved out of a local jail. Ellis said he would do his best, though he was not the judge who ordered Manafort’s confinement.
