Paraplegic Convict to Hang by Wheelchair

Prison officials may hang a paraplegic convict from his wheelchair despite appeals by human rights organizations. Abdul Basit, was convicted of murder but developed tuberculosis a year later which paralyzed him. A final hearing on August 25 will determine if he will in fact be hung. Prison officials would then have to determine how much rope would be needed for a man who can't support his own weight.
