Well isn’t this awkward? Republican Carl Paladino’s hometown newspaper, The Buffalo News, officially endorsed his Democratic opponent Andrew Cuomo. This could be because Cuomo accepted an invitation to pitch his credentials to the editorial board of the newspaper, while Paladino refused the offer. The Buffalo News gave high praise to Cuomo in an editorial that read in part, "If he accomplishes only half of what he says he wants—detailed in a series of (policy) books he has released—he will have rendered a historic service to the state." The editorial also cited that Paladino’s history of bigoted emails and statements in the past have "burned his own campaign to cinders." This comes as a harsh blow to Paladino, since his poll numbers are already lower than Cuomo’s just a week shy of the election on November 2.
