Pakistan P.M.: Charge Musharraf With Treason

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that former military ruler Pervez Musharraf should go on trial on charges of treason for allegedly firing judges and seizing power in 1999. Musharraf “will have to answer for his guilt before the court,” Sharif said. Musharraf returned to Pakistan earlier this year after years of self-imposed exile and is currently under house arrest for charges related to the coup that ousted Sharif and brought Musharraf to power. Musharraf has claimed all charges against him are politically motivated.
