Ohio State University will face Oregon in the first-ever College Football Championship, after unseating top-ranked Alabama in the semifinal at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on Thursday. The No. 4 Buckeyes clinched a 42-35 win off running back Ezekiel Elliott’s 85-yard touchdown with less than four minutes left in the game. The No. 2-ranked Oregon Ducks’ high-powered offense blew past the reigning champion Florida State at the Rose Bowl earlier on Thursday, with 35 unanswered points in the second half. The Buckeyes and the Ducks will meet in Arlington, Texas, at the home of the Dallas Cowboys for the first-of-its-kind College Football Championship Game on Jan. 12.
