Oregon Shooting Death Toll Revised to 10

A 26-year-old man police have identified as Chris Harper Mercer killed nine people and wounded seven others while on a shooting rampage at a community college in southwest Oregon on Thursday. Mercer, who was killed in a firefight with sheriff's deputies, demanded his victims state their religions before shooting them at Umpqua Community College's campus, witnesses said. Earlier Thursday, State Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum and other officials had said 13 people were dead, but investigators could not confirm that number. Law enforcement officials have since revised that number to 10 victims “at this time.”
