Does the Delaware GOP have buyer’s remorse yet? A new poll from Public Policy Polling shows the party’s nominee, Christine O’Donnell, trailing the Democrat Chris Coons 50-34. Meanwhile, had Republicans selected Rep. Mike Castle to run, he’d be leading Coons 45-35. In fact, PPP says “If Castle had won he would have received more Democratic support than any other Republican Senate candidate in the country. Now our polling suggests with O'Donnell's victory that Coons will win more Republicans than any other Democratic Senate candidate in the country.” Castle’s moderate supporters now back Coons 54-31; overall, Coons takes 25 percent of the Republican vote.
