Obama faced a tough audience yesterday in Peoria, Illinois. Workers at the Caterpillar plant had just gotten word of 20,000 layoffs when the president took to the bullhorn, and factory workers didn’t join in his message of cheer. After the speech, Obama urged Illinois GOP Congressman Aaron Schock to stick around and hear thoughts. No one bothered. “Not one employee at that facility approached me and asked me to vote for this bill,” said Schock today after voting against the stimulus.
