Obamas Bring Chicago to D.C.

Barack Obama’s famously tight-knit social network from Chicago’s South Side is moving, by degrees, to Washington, D.C. The Washington Post reports that, in addition to granny-in-chief Marian Robinson, who will reside in the White House and care for first daughters Sasha and Malia, the first family expects frequent visits from the girls’ godmother, Kaye Wilson, and “more than a dozen other friends and relatives.” Windy City natives will also perform professional functions in Obama’s White House: The president has brought in longtime friend Valerie Jarrett as a senior adviser and his favorite chef, Sam Kass, into the White House kitchen.
