In their first visit to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts since the inauguration, President Obama and his wife Michelle will attend the sold-out D.C. premiere of an Alvin Ailey dance performance tonight. Joining them in their private box will be a few (to-be-determined) special friends. So far, the Obamas aren't letting the gates of 1600 hold them back: they have dined at Equinox and gone for drinks at Bobby Van's Steakhouse. The Obamas have also emphasized the importance of the date night ritual to their marriage. Michelle has called it "a reminder that this family is not just two folks raising kids but it's two people building a life together."
